Farewell Spit Cafe and Visitor Information Centre

About 50 mins drive from Takaka brings you to the northernmost café in the South Island. Farewell Spit Café is reached by turning 1st right off Wharariki Road and then across the Freemans Access Road at Puponga. The café has spectacular and breathtaking views of the famous Farewell Spit Nature Reserve, and on a perfect day you can see the North Island and in winter Mt Taranaki with its snowy peak.

- Summer hours open 9am to 5 pm daily
- Winter hours open 10am to 4pm 6 days (Closed Tuesday)
