Wharariki Beach Holiday Park offers a range of accommodation options, whether you're travelling by campervan or caravan, pitching a tent, staying in a cabin, or looking for backpacker accommodation.

  • 6 powered sites for campervans and caravans

  • 4 Standard Cabins – each with 1 fully made-up queen bed and 1 double sofa bed. Please bring your own bedding for the sofa bed if booking for 3 or 4 guests. Cabin guests use the shared facilities in the Amenities Block.

  • Backpackers Lodge – 18+ only – large unisex shared room sleeping up to 11 guests

  • 1 Large Group Site – suitable for groups of 6–10 people

Important Information

No pets or domestic animals are permitted at Wharariki Beach Holiday Park.

Campervans: There is no dump station at the Holiday Park, so please arrive with your waste tanks empty. The nearest dump station is in Collingwood.

Waste & recycling: There are no rubbish disposal facilities at Wharariki Beach Holiday Park. We operate a pack in, pack out policy, so please take all rubbish with you when you leave. Recycling facilities are available in Collingwood.

Tariffs

Standard Cabins

Wharariki Beach Holiday Park has 4 Standard Cabins, offering a comfortable option for couples, families and small groups.

Each cabin sleeps up to 4 guests and includes:

  • 1 Queen bed with linen provided

  • 1 Double fold-down sofa bed

  • Access to the shared kitchen, bathroom, shower and laundry facilities in the Amenities Block

Rates:
1–2 guests: $112.50 per cabin, per night
Extra adult: $28.50 per night
Children 5–15 years: $16.00 per child, per night
Children under 5 years: FREE

Bedding:
Linen is provided for the Queen bed only.

If the fold-down sofa bed will be used, guests must bring all of their own bedding, including sheets, pillows and blankets or sleeping bags.

Please note that bedding and linen hire is not available at the Holiday Park.

Powered Campervan & Caravan Sites

Our powered sites are suitable for campervans and caravans, with easy access to the shared facilities in our Amenities Block.

Rates:
First adult (including powered site): $28.50 per night
Each additional adult: $22.50 per night
Children 5–15 years: $14.00 per child, per night
Children under 5 years: FREE

Guests have access to the communal kitchen, bathrooms, hot showers, laundry, dining and lounge facilities during their stay.

Unpowered Tent & Campervan Sites

Our spacious, well-drained and level sites are suitable for tents and campervans, with easy access to the shared kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry facilities in our Amenities Block.

Sites vary in size, with options available for individuals, couples, families and groups.

Rates:
Adults: $22.50 per person, per night
Children 5–15 years: $14.00 per child, per night
Children under 5 years: FREE

Group Site:
Our large group site is suitable for 6–10 people.

6 people: $135.00 per night
Additional guests: $22.50 per person, per night
Maximum: 10 people

Backpackers Lodge

Our 18+ unisex Backpackers Lodge offers simple, affordable shared accommodation for adult travellers.

The lodge sleeps up to 11 guests, with single and double bed options available.

Rates:
Single bed: $38.00 per night
Double bed: $76.00 per night for 1 or 2 people

A pillow and bottom sheet are provided. Guests will need to bring their own sleeping bag or bedding.

Please Note – Peak Season Pricing

Due to high demand, peak season pricing applies from 1 December to 31 March, as well as on all New Zealand public holidays.

During peak periods, an additional surcharge applies to one-night stays.

All rates and any applicable surcharges will be clearly displayed when booking through our online booking system, so you'll see the full price before confirming your stay.

Park Facilities

All guests staying at Wharariki Beach Holiday Park have access to our shared facilities, including:

  • Communal kitchen with fridge/freezer and gas cooking hobs

  • Dining room and lounge area

  • Shared bathroom facilities

  • Hot showers

  • Laundry with washing machine

  • Outdoor BBQ area

  • Children’s playground

  • Parking for coaches, boats and trucks

  • Boat ramp approximately 6km from the Holiday Park

Some facilities have an additional charge. Hot showers are $2.00 for 6 minutes. Any other applicable charges are shown through our online booking system.

Mobile Coverage & Internet

Wharariki is a wonderfully remote location, which means mobile phone and data coverage around the Holiday Park is very limited.

There is a Vodafone mobile tower approximately 1km from the park; however, coverage can still be limited and should not be relied upon during your stay.

Archway Café

Nestled in the bush near the Wharariki Beach car park, Archway Café is a great spot to stop for coffee or something to eat before or after exploring the beach.

The café is generally open from late October through to Easter, 9:00am–5:00pm, serving coffee, cakes, muffins, sandwiches, ice cream and cold drinks.
